Train, vehicle collide near Anamoose

ANAMOOSE - A rural Martin man sustained minor injuries when his vehicle was struck by a BNSF train near Anamoose Thursday, Oct. 1.

According to The Pierce County Sheriff's office, at about 10:37 a.m., dispatch received a 911 call reporting a collision between a northwest bound BNSF train and a motor vehicle. Dispatch was advised the collision occurred on the train tracks located on the 3200 block of 26th Avenue Northeast, about eight miles east of Anamoose.

A Jeep Wrangler occupied by Charles Weick, 65, was struck by the train. Weick was transported to a Harvey hospital for evaluation for his injuries.
