BISMARCK - North Dakota students have chances to win one of two $1,500 Smart with My Money Scholarships through the Bank of North Dakota this month. The bank is providing one $1,500 scholarship to North Dakota high school juniors and seniors and one $1,500 scholarship to college students who are North Dakota residents or attending a North Dakota school.
The scholarships will be awarded through a contribution to a College SAVE 529 Plan account that can be used toward qualified higher education expenses, including tuition.
Starting Nov. 1, students who register for a free account at SmartWithMyMoney.nd.gov and take one, two or all three of the college planning courses selected for their age group earn entries in the contest drawing for a scholarship. The courses will help students learn how to prepare to finance their education wisely and understand how to manage or repay any money they may need to borrow. All entries must be submitted by Nov. 30, 2026.
The free website is available to all North Dakota residents and has information for people ages 15 and older and covers both the educational and behavioral aspects of financial literacy.
