By MDN STAFF 2 min read

Souris Basin Planning Council will host its annual State of Region 2 event on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5-8 p.m. at the Minot Area Workforce Academy in Minot.

State of Region 2 is an annual gathering that brings together regional leaders, partners, stakeholders, and community members to discuss the priorities, challenges and opportunities shaping North Dakota Region 2, which includes Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville and Ward counties, as well as the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation. The event serves as a platform for learning, connection and strategic conversations about the future of the region.

This year’s program will include a regional update detailing progress made over the past year and priorities for the year ahead, panel discussions focused on rural housing and workforce development, and an interactive session facilitated by North Dakota State University Extension that is designed to help identify community priorities and explore actionable next steps.

The event highlights the unique challenges and opportunities facing rural communities and provides an opportunity to exchange perspectives, strengthen regional relationships and advance community-driven solutions. Participants will engage with issues affecting the region and help inform efforts that support continued progress throughout North Dakota Region 2.

RSVP through the event page on the website at sourisbasin.org is required to confirm attendance. Please RSVP by Oct. 21. Food and beverages will be provided.
