BISMARCK - North Dakota Council on the Arts (NDCA), in partnership with the Governor’s Office, is accepting nominations for the 2027 ND Governor’s Awards for the Arts. Presented every two years, the awards recognize outstanding individuals, educators, community groups and organizations whose dedication, leadership and creativity have made a lasting impact on the arts and cultural life of North Dakota.

The ND Governor’s Awards for the Arts honor those who expand access to the arts, enrich artistic experiences, preserve and celebrate cultural heritage, strengthen arts education and foster vibrant communities across North Dakota. NDCA invites the public to help recognize these exceptional contributors by submitting nominations for the 2027 awards.

Nominations can be made in the following categories:

- Arts in Education (teacher, administrator, school)

- Arts Organization

- Community Impact

- Cultural Heritage

- Individual Achievement (artist, staff, volunteer, administrator)

- New Voices (artist, administrator)

There is a possibility that not all categories will be awarded or there may be more than one recipient in a single category. The nomination deadline is Nov. 22.

A review committee will evaluate submissions and recommend finalists to the governor, who will select the award recipients. Honorees will be recognized during a special reception and awards ceremony held in conjunction with Arts Day at the ND State Capitol on Thursday, Feb. 11.
