NDSU Extension-Ward County will offer Lead Local, a one-day training for aspiring, elected and appointed leaders serving on local boards, councils and committees.
The workshop will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the NDSU North Central Research Extension Center, Minot.
"Local boards and committees play an important role in the decisions and work that shape our communities," said Paige Brummund, NDSU Extension agent. "Serving on a board is an opportunity to contribute your time and experience, but it also comes with responsibilities. Lead Local provides participants with practical tools to feel more prepared and confident in those roles."
Participants will learn about effective meetings, basic parliamentary procedure, personality styles, teamwork and conflict management. The training is designed to help participants build practical skills for serving effectively in local leadership roles.
There is a registration fee, which includes lunch, breaks/snacks and materials.
