By MDN STAFF 1 min read

A 12-year-old child was seriously injured in an apparent hit-and-run on Sunday, Oct. 25, in the area of 5th Avenue and 18th Street Northwest, according to the Minot Police Department. The police received a report of a child lying injured in the roadway at about 3:59 p.m.

The department had been asking members of the public who might have information about a gray or silver 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro in the area at the time of the incident to contact Minot Central Dispatch. The vehicle later was located.

Patrol examined video footage provided by a nearby resident that indicated the Camaro was traveling directly behind the child on a motorized bicycle shortly before the incident. Additional footage appeared to show the vehicle leaving the area shortly afterward.

The investigation remains ongoing.
