Energy association members to meet in Minot

By MDN STAFF 1 min read

The Western Dakota Energy Association will hold its 2026 annual meeting Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 21-22, at the Sleep Inn & Suites Conference Center in Minot.

According to WDEA information, this year’s meeting shifts from a traditional conference format to a working meeting focused on the issues that matter most to North Dakota’s energy-producing communities. With a streamlined one-day business agenda, members will spend less time listening to presentations and more time engaging in discussions, developing priorities and helping shape WDEA’s legislative agenda for the 2027 legislative session.

Thursday morning’s meeting will feature updates on issues affecting local governments, including the gross production tax, electric infrastructure, large-load growth and data centers. In the afternoon, attendees will transition from hearing about the issues to working on solutions through an interactive legislative priorities workshop.
