The City of Minot landfill will begin winter hours on Monday, Oct. 12, according to City of Minot information.
During winter hours, the landfill will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The landfill is located at 4450 37th Ave. SW.
The household hazardous waste drop-off site at the landfill will also remain open during winter months. Residents bringing items to dispose of at the landfill should
stop at the scale house directly inside the gate, where employees will direct them to the proper location.
"Our household hazardous waste drop-off site is part of our recycling facility, so that allows us to keep it open all year," Sanitation Superintendent Josh Kraft said.
"Now you don't have to wait until our household hazardous waste collection events to dispose of old paint, stains, pesticides, batteries, and other items. You can drop
them off with us year-round."
For City of Minot sanitation customers, household hazardous waste drop-off is free. The city also will host a drop-off event in the spring at the Public Works Building for household hazardous waste and e-waste.
