A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 17 in North Central District Court for a Minot man charged with delivery of methadone in an overdose death, a Class A felony.

Casimir Robert James Black, 39, was arrested Oct. 6 and bail was set Oct. 8.

According to the court affidavit, during a police investigation of a methadone overdose death, a conversation between the victim and Black were found on the victim's cell phone in which Back indicated he had methadone for sale. Black later admitted to police the methadone prescriptions were his own. The affidavit noted Black had prior narcotic-related criminal charges in various states and counties in North Dakota.
