BISMARCK – The Western North Dakota Honor Flight will launch its 10th trip to Washington, D.C., on Sept. 27-28, carrying another group of veterans from across western North Dakota to visit the national memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.
According to Western N.D. Honor Flight information, the two-day journey provides veterans with the opportunity to reflect, connect with fellow service members, and experience the nation's capital in their honor.
"Our purpose is simple, honor our veterans with the gratitude they deserve," Patience Mosbrucker, Board of Directors president, said. "Trip 10 is another powerful reminder of the service and sacrifice these women and men gave to our nation, and we are proud to stand with them as they visit their memorials."
The Western N.D. Honor Flight continues to serve veterans from the World War II era, Korean War era and Vietnam War era by providing an all expenses paid trip to Washington. Trip 10 will include visits to the World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and other significant sites.
The public is invited to welcome the veterans home at the Bismarck Airport on Sept. 28 at approximately 7:15 p.m., where a large crowd is expected to greet the returning group with appreciation and support. Bismarck Airport will offer free parking for those attending the welcome home.
The Western N.D. Honor Flight is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring America's veterans with a trip to Washington to visit the memorials built to commemorate their service.
