WILLISTON - The North Dakota Public Service Commission will hold a public hearing on Sept. 29 regarding a proposal to construct a wind farm in Williams County.
Homestead Wind LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apex Clean Energy Holdings LLC, is requesting a siting permit for the construction of a wind project with a capacity of up to 256.5 megawatts, which will be known as the Homestead Wind Project. The project would consist of up to 67 wind turbine generators and associated facilities in the northwest corner of Williams County and would encompass about 25,000 acres. The estimated cost of the wind project is $750 million.
The hearing begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Grand Williston Hotel and Conference Center, 3601 2nd. Ave. W., Williston.
People with concerns, questions or support/opposition for the project are encouraged to attend the hearing and present their information. Information received after the hearing will not be part of the official record and cannot be used as a basis for the commission's decision unless certain additional procedures are followed.
