TIOGA - A 48-year-old man from Leesville, Louisiana, was injured when the pickup he was driving and a semi crashed on U.S. Highway 2, three miles south of Tioga, Sunday, Sept. 20.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 7:56 p.m., a Peterbilt semi with trailer was traveling eastbound on the highway in the right lane, approximately three miles south of Tioga. A Ram pickup was stopped at a red traffic light, waiting for the light to turn green. The Peterbilt struck the Ram from the rear.
The driver of the Peterbilt, a 25-year-old man from Greybull, Wyoming, was not injured. The driver of the Ram sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was initially transported to a Tioga medical center. The driver of the Ram was later flown to a Minot hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by Highway Patrol.
