RYDER - One person died and another was injured in a one-vehicle rollover on N.D. Highway 28, about a half mile north of Ryder, Sunday, Sept. 27.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 8:38 p.m., a Ford F-150 pickup, driven by a 47-year-old Belfield man, was traveling north on Highway 28 when it entered the west ditch, vaulted and rolled.
The passenger, a 50-year-old man from Los Banos, California, was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Minot hospital. He was charged with DUI and criminal vehicular homicide, according to the Highway Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
