The City of Minot has announced the availability of federal Community Development Block Grants dollars to support projects aimed at improving housing for primarily low-and moderate-income individuals in the community.
Funding awards are available to nonprofit entities, for-profit entities, community-based development organizations, community development financial institutions, faith-based organizations, an institute of higher learning if carrying out CDBG activities, developers and contractors.
Awards may be granted up to the maximum available program amount to include the remaining available funding from the 2024 and 2025 program years.

In 2023, the City of Minot was designated an Entitlement Community and subsequently submitted an application and consolidated plan for CDBG funding to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for program years 2024-2028.
The city's plan has three primary components:
- Support activities that increase the number of jobs in Minot, especially for low-to moderate-income residents.
- Ensure that a wide variety of housing opportunities are available.
- Provide supportive services to residents in poverty.
The City of Minot has about $538,345 in CDBG funding available for eligible housing and public facilities and improvements that primarily benefit low- and moderate-income individuals and households.
Of the total, $309,136 is designated for eligible housing activities. This includes $214,276 in uncommitted funds from prior program years and $94,860 in Program Year 2026 CDBG funding specifically allocated for housing activities.
About $229,209 is available for eligible public facilities and improvements. This includes $137,223 in uncommitted funds from prior program years and $91,986 in Program Year 2026 CDBG funding specifically allocated for public facilities and improvements.
