August temp above long-term average

This past month of August had an average temperature of 67 degrees which is 0.2 degrees above the 119-year, long-term average of 66.8 degrees, according to Austin Kraklau of the North Central Research Extension Center, south of Minot.

He said the lowest temperature of the month was 46 degrees, which occurred on both Aug 4 and Aug. 22. The high was 94 degrees which occurred on Aug. 2.

The total moisture for the month was 2.59 inches which is 0.63 inches above the long-term average of 1.96 inches, Kraklau said.
