Trinity Health has accepted the first student into its newly established Adult Echocardiography Program, marking an important milestone in the organization’s commitment to advancing heart care and workforce development. This program is the only hospital-based adult echocardiography program in North Dakota, according to Trinity Health.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, creating a demand for trained healthcare professionals who can assist in the diagnosis and management of heart disease. Echocardiographers use ultrasound technology to evaluate heart structure and function, helping physicians detect and monitor a variety of cardiac conditions.
Trinity Health’s Adult Echocardiography Program comes at a time when healthcare organizations nationwide are experiencing a significant demand for skilled cardiac sonographers. By providing local educational opportunities and clinical training, the program aims to prepare healthcare professionals for the growing needs of patients.
“This program represents an investment in both our patients and the future of healthcare,” said Bryan Beckedahl, program coordinator for Cardiac Ultrasound at Trinity Health. “We are excited to welcome our first student and begin building a pathway that will prepare highly qualified echocardiographers to support the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.”
The Adult Echocardiography Program combines didactic instruction, hands-on scanning experience and clinical education designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for a career in cardiac ultrasound. The 21-month certificate program, and the credits earned will go toward the student’s college degree.
