Ray celebrates Grain Palace Days

His passengers are Alesha Anderson and, riding in back, Hanel's uncle Joe Keller of Wahpeton. Rodney's grandparents purchased the Model T in the early 1930s as used. A 1928 International 6-speed pickup driven and owned by Dave Bergstrom of Ray is followed up by a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS owned and driven by Kelly Bloom of Ray. Bloom purchased the auto from an city impound auction in Fargo in 1986 and he worked on rebuilding it from 1990-2010. The Chevelle sports a 454 cubic inch big block engine. Photo by Roger Riveland.

Willenbring and Ketelsen also had ribs at their table and were part of the Ray Farmer's Union Elevator team, that won first place and $500 in the ribs cook-off and second place and $250 in the wings portion of the cook-off event. Other events during the weekend included a concert Friday evening, July 31. Saturday events were a parade, a car show at North Park where the cookoff was held, a community feed sponsored by and at the Ray Fire Department, a vender market and bull riding and saddle bronc rodeo, followed up by a DJ party street dance.
