SHEYENNE – The driver and four passengers were injured in a one-vehicle crash near Sheyenne Sunday, Aug. 23.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at about 1:51 a.m., a 2007 GMC Yukon was traveling west on 29th Street Northeast, east of Sheyenne, and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went off the roadway, over corrected and ran off the roadway and entered a ditch.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, was transported by ambulance to a Carrington hospital with minor injuries. A 32-year-old female passenger from New Rockford also was transported by ambulance to the Carrington hospital with suspected serious, non-life threatening injures.
A 23-year-old male passenger from New Rockford was transported by ambulance to a Carrington medical facility and then airlifted to a Fargo medical center for serious, life-threatening injuries. Two juvenile passengers were transported by ambulance to a Devils Lake hospital with serious injuries.
A 21-year-old male from New Rockford, also a passenger, was not injured.
The driver and passengers were not wearing seat belts, according to the Highway Patrol.
The driver was charged with DUI.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
