A pedestrian was struck when two-vehicles crashed at the intersection of 11th Avenue Southwest and First Street Southwest Monday, July 27.
According to the Minot Police Department, at about 5:14 p.m., patrol officers responded to the crash at the intersection. The preliminary investigation determined the driver of a 2016 Toyota Highlander was exiting a bank parking lot and failed to yield to a 2023 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on 11th Avenue Southwest. The resulting T-bone collision caused the Highlander to rotate, striking a pedestrian on the boulevard beneath a tree, then hitting a nearby fire hydrant.
The pedestrian was transported to a Minot hospital with moderate, non-life-threatening injuries. Neither driver was injured in the crash.
The driver of the Toyota Highlander was cited for a stop/yield sign violation, according to the Minot Police report.
The crash remains under investigation.
