Minot Police promotes, adds to ranks

JILL SCHRAMM/MDN Taking their oaths Monday, July 6, with Minot Mayor Mark Jantzer, right, are new Minot police officers, from left, Maya Mayfield, Rudy Rosenbaum, Uriah Schneekloth, Shad Huber and Matthew Filkins.

The Minot Police Department swore in five new officers and promoted two during a ceremony Monday, July 6.

Cole Strandemo and Josh Noyes were promoted to lieutenants. Noyes will work as a patrol lieutenant and Strandemo as administrative lieutenant.

New patrol officers are Maya Mayfield, Matthew Filkins, Shad Huber, Uriah Schneekloth and Rudy Rosenbaum. They were sworn in by Mayor Mark Jantzer and badges were pinned by their family members.

Huber, Schneekloth and Rosenbaum will be completing their training while beginning service to the city. Mayfield requires a shorter training because of her previous experience in law enforcement in Georgia, where she had served from 2015 until moving to Minot as a military spouse. Filkins already is a licensed peace officer, having served as a Ward County correctional officer and for about the past two years as a Burlington police officer.

Starting at $3.75/week.
