A Minot man was arrested on allegations of possession of child sexual abuse material on Wednesday, July 29, according to the Minot Police Department.
Police report executing a search warrant with assistance from the North Dakota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at about 6:30 a.m. at an apartment in southwest Minot, following an investigation initiated from a cyber tip received through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
As a result of the investigation, Franklin M. Burkhert, 32, of Minot, was arrested and charged with 10 counts of Possession of Certain Materials Prohibited, a Class B felony. The charges stem from the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material located on a cellular phone.
Burkhert was transported to the Ward County Jail.
