Firefighters from the Minot Fire Department quickly extinguished a dryer fire in northwest Minot Tuesday, July 7.

According to fire department information, about 12:46 p.m., Minot Central Dispatch received a report of a dryer fire in the basement of a residence in the 1300 block of Valley View Drive.

While responding, crews were advised that all occupants had safely evacuated the residence.

Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes of the initial dispatch. Upon arrival, they observed smoke coming from the exterior of the home. Crews encountered heavy smoke upon entry. The fire was quickly located and extinguished, limiting damage to the area surrounding the dryer. No injuries were reported.

Besides the Minot Fire Department, the Minot Police Department also responded to the scene of the fire.
