Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4 Commander Frank Senn accepted a donation check from John Gaddie, general manager of Ryan Buick GMC Tuesday, July 7.

According to DAV Chapter 4 information, the check donation follows the dealership’s 6th Annual Flag Day Celebration and Veterans Appreciation Event held on June 12.

Ryan GMC Buick supported the event by providing a complimentary lunch to all attendees. During the lunch, freewill donations were accepted. The dealership then matched all donations, resulting in a combined total of $3,512 contributed to DAV Chapter 4 Minot.

The funds will directly support DAV’s mission of assisting disabled veterans and their families in North Dakota.

Chapter 4 presented a formal Flag Day program during the June 12 event, honoring the history, symbolism and proper respect of the American flag. Gaddie served as master of ceremonies, guiding a program that featured remarks from Senn; Col. Mike Taylor, Minot Air Force Base; and Minot Mayor Mark Jantzer. DAV members Dean Verstraete and Ron Garcia gave an American flag folding demonstration while Paul Engeldinger narrated the meaning of each fold.

Guests were invited to exchange worn or faded U.S. flags for a new, American‒made flag, courtesy of Minot SCHEELS. All retired flags will receive dignified disposal in accordance with the U.S. Flag Code.

Senn expressed appreciation for the Ryan Buick GMC dealership’s continued support and for the community’s strong turnout in recognition of Flag Day and local veterans.

Starting at $3.75/week.
