OMAHA, Neb. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced it is waiving day-use fees July 3-5 at its more than 2,800 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in support of America’s 250th anniversary celebration.

The waiver applies to boat launch ramps and swimming beaches at USACE-operated recreation areas. Camping fees, camping-related services, group picnic shelters and other specialized facilities are not included in the fee waiver.

The possession or ignition of explosives of any kind, including fireworks, is strictly prohibited by federal regulation on all federal lands. These restrictions are in place to protect public safety, wildlife habitat, natural resources and surrounding communities. Violation of this regulation may result in fines and other penalties.
