WHITE SHIELD – Codie Bird-Esquibel commemorated her son’s passing on March 2, 2025, with a walk for resilience held at the Ralph Wells Community Center track in White Shield on Friday, June 26.

“Men’s mental health needs to be brought into the social light of communities,” Bird-Esquibel said.

Her signs included: “Men’s Mental Health matters” and “We lose 135 ppl a day to death by suicide. Every 11 minutes, someone loses the battle. 49,000 lose their battle yearly.”

Fifty or so people supported the walk. Bird-Esquibel held a meal after the walk.
