Traffic route to park pool, pickleball established
Work continues in Phases MI-6 and MI-7 of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP), and with Roosevelt Park Pool opening to the public on Friday, June 5, a temporary traffic route has been established to the pool and pickleball courts while paving continues in other areas of the park.
Traffic will enter from Eighth Street Southeast, through the park entrance, and will follow the paved road on the west side of Roosevelt Pool past the Pool House (pool entrance) and into the parking lot on the north side of the pickleball courts. Traffic will exit along the same route but will follow the gravel portion of the roadway.
This temporary route will be in place from Friday, June 5, through Thursday, June 18. This route is the entrance and exit for both parking and access to the pool and pickleball courts. There is two-way traffic on the road in and out so motorists are advised to use slower speeds and look for pedestrians.
There will be a marked pedestrian crossing on the shared roadway. Always be prepared to stop for pedestrians using this crossing. Keep speeds slow, and do not enter any restricted areas.
