Saying thanks to military members, families

The Minot Area Chamber EDC Military Affairs Committee, in partnership with the Minot Park District, will be holding Military Appreciation in the Parks, a communitywide event to say “thank you” to active-duty and retired military members and their families, Friday, June 12. The day features free food, recreation and family-friendly activities at multiple locations in Minot.

The activities include:

- Oak Park, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., free lunch with military ID, served by the Minot Area Chamber EDC Military Affairs Committee, plus outdoor games, bounce houses and more.

- Roosevelt Park Zoo, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., free zoo admission with military ID. Also available on Wednesdays through June.

- Maysa Arena, noon-2 p.m., free skating with military ID.

- Roosevelt Park Pool, noon-8 p.m., free swimming with military ID.

Military Appreciation in the Parks, an annual event, recognizes the service and sacrifices of military members and their families. The event gives military families an opportunity to enjoy Minot parks and recreational amenities at no cost while experiencing the community’s gratitude and support.
