Old-Time Fiddle Contest winners announced
INTERNATIONAL PEACE GARDEN – The 49th Annual International Old-Time Fiddle Contest was held Saturday, June 6, at the International Peace Garden,with fiddlers participating from Idaho, Manitoba, Minnesota,and North Dakota for trophies and cash prizes totaling more than $2,000.
Judges for the annual event were Evie Andrus, Knoxville, Tennessee; Ryan D’Aoust, Norway House, Manitoba; and Shelby Huston, Fargo.
Results of the contest are as follows.
– Championship: first, Nya Chapman, Winnipeg, Manitoba; second, May McCusker, Winnipeg; third, Margaret McCusker, Winnipeg: fourth, Katie Bonn, Salmon, Idaho; and fifth, Laura Barry, Ellendale.
– Senior: first, Rick Wedel, Winnipeg; second, Martin Fewkes, Meridan, Idaho; third, Don Himbeault, Winnipeg; and fourth, Diane Graham, Winkler, Manitoba.
– Junior: first, Severin Thompson, Audubon, Minnesota; second, Evelyn Millner, Mandan.
