New Town man dies in two-vehicle crash
PALERMO – A 22-year-old New Town man died in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 2, about 5 miles east of Palermo Monday, June 1.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 12:07 a.m., a 2008 GMC Sierra, driven by the New Town man, was traveling south on 67th Avenue Northwest. A 2020 Ford Expedition, driven by a 59-year-old Minot woman, was traveling east on Highway 2. The Sierra failed to yield to the Ford and the front of the Sierra struck the rear driver’s side of the Ford. The driver of the Sierra was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries.
According to the Highway Patrol, the driver of the Sierra was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Ford was wearing a seat belt. Their names were not released as of Monday.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
