ND Stockmen announce coloring contest winners
Youth from across North Dakota celebrated May as Beef Month by participating in the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association’s (NDSA) first-ever Beef Month Coloring Contest. The NDSA received 124 entries across the 10 age divisions.
Among winners were:
– Age 4, first, Eleanor Philbrick, Underwood; second, Lonnie Miller, Underwood.
– Age 6, first, Banks Leiseth, Arnegard; second, Brooke Nelson, Towner.
– Age 11, second, Grace Hill, Watford City.
“It was fun to see so many coloring contest entries and all the different renditions the youth came up with on their coloring pages,” said NDSA Executive Vice President Julie Ellingson. “Just like a coloring page comes to life with different colors, the beef industry is made vibrant by the people, cattle, landscapes, traditions and stories that make it unique.”
The coloring contest was just one way the state celebrated Beef Month, which saluted an industry contributing nearly $1.5 billion in direct cash receipts to North Dakota’s economy each year.
