National American Legion commander to visit White Shield
WHITE SHIELD — National American Legion Commander, Dan K. Wiley will visit White Shield for a special community Meet and Greet on Monday on July 6, the American Legion announced.
Fresh off the historic United States 250th Independence Day celebrations, Wiley will be touring North Dakota to engage directly with veterans, families and community leaders.
The event will take place from noon-3 p.m. at the Old Scouts Veterans Memorial Building at 545 Sahnish Ave., White Shield. A meal will be served.
This special visit is a highlight of the American Legion’s commitment to serving city, rural and tribal veteran populations, ensuring their voices are heard at the highest levels of national leadership.
Wiley’s visit also underscores the vital role local veterans play in keeping the spirit of patriotism alive. It provides a unique opportunity for local veterans, posts, community leaders and distinguished guests to engage directly with the national leadership of America’s largest wartime veterans service organization.
The American Legion is dedicated to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in its communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to fellow service members and veterans.
