Local election news available online

Results become official following actions by canvassing boards. County canvassing boards meet on June 22. The state canvassing board must certify results by June 26.

Going into Election Day, North Dakota voters already had cast 50,546 ballots, including absentee or vote by mail and 17,287 early poll votes.

Ward County listed 587 absentee or mailed ballots and 2,623 early poll votes.

There were 120,358 ballots cast statewide in the June 2024 primary, which was higher than the 106,169 ballots cast in the nonpresidential year in June 2022 but still only 20.26% of eligible voters.

There were 8,426 ballots cast in Ward County in June 2024, or about 16% of eligible voters.

The highest primary turnout in recent years was 175,303 voters statewide in 2012, or 33%. Ward County’s turnout in that election was 12,048, or 24.6% of eligible voters.
