The Minot Junior Golf Association (MJGA) has announced the recipients of its 2026 scholarship program, recognizing nine graduating seniors for their dedication to the game of golf, academic achievement, and commitment to their communities.
The 2026 scholarship recipients are Breckin Bohl, Bottineau High School; Kaden Carlson, Emersyn Kopp, Abigail Speer and Kinzy Welstad, all Minot North High School; Ally Larson, Ella Pearson and Ava Walen, all Des Lacs-Burlington High School; and Ashton Roedocker, Our Redeemer’s Christian School.
“Minot Junior Golf Association is proud to invest in these outstanding young people as they pursue their educational goals,” said Reed Argent, MJGA Board president. “Golf teaches discipline, integrity, perseverance and respect. We hope these scholarships not only help ease the financial burden of college, but also serve as a reminder that their hard work, both on and off the course, has been recognized. We look forward to seeing the positive impact each of these students will make in the years ahead.”
The MJGA Scholarship Program supports student golfers who participated in school-sanctioned high school golf programs. Students are not required to continue playing golf at the collegiate level to be eligible. Scholarship recipients are selected through an application process that includes an essay, with additional consideration given to previous participation in MJGA programs and volunteer service.
Since the scholarship program began in 2016, 54 scholarships totaling $216,000 have been awarded to graduating high school golfers.
