Fort celebrates 60 years as national historic site

Submitted Photo Reenactor Laura Castro of Sidney, Mont., plays her violin on the porch of the Bourgeois House at Fort Union. Other activities at the fort this past weekend included blacksmith demonstrations, working with hides, period canoes, fiber art, numerous talks, and old style prairie cooking in the form of camp stew in a huge cast iron cauldron and bison tongue being boiled at the American Mountain Men campsite.
