Former 5th Fighter pilots gather at air museum

Submitted Photo Former pilots with the 5th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Minot Air Force Base and their spouses from across the country met this past week at the Dakota Territory Air Museum in Minot. The pilots were stationed at Minot AFB in the late 1980s before the squadron was deactivated. From left to right are Linda Smith, Ken "Homer" Smith, Daryl "Bones" Jones, Martha Jones, Mike "Levi" Levitt, Stan "Sundance" Kasprzyk, Mary Kasprzyk, Jim "Hacksaw" McComas, Lea McComas, Mike "Pork" VanLaan, Dave "Over" Szeles, Becky Szeles, Sean "Sleepy" O'Brien, Coleen O'Brien, Tom "Konscan" Konicke, Phil "Lebeau" Nicholson, Dori Nicholson, and Ralph "Root" Moser. The 11 pilots in the photo have more than 20,000 combined flight hours in the F-15 Eagle, and Daryl "Bones" Jones was the last pilot with his name on T-33 616 at the museum.
