Wild moose reported in park area
Multiple wild moose have been reported wandering within the Oak Park area in Minot, according to information from Minot Parks Monday, May 19.
Minot Parks warned citizens to maintain a minimum distance of at least 50 feet at all times and to expect aggression, as they are highly unpredictable wild animals.
Moose can charge at speeds of 35 mph. Signs of stress or an impending charge include ears laid flat back against their head, hackles standing straight up and smacking, licking or clicking their lips.
Local authorities and wildlife officials were contacted.
