UND medical school presents awards
GRAND FORKS – The University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences presented a number of awards to its M.D. Class of 2026 medical students and faculty during its commencement festivities on May 1 and 2.
Among winners of the Dean’s Special Recognition Awards for Outstanding Clinical Faculty was Dustin Evans, M.D., clerkship director of surgery for the Minot Integrated Longitudinal Experience (MILE), a third-year clerkship at Trinity Health for students training in the Minot region.
James Schmidt, M.D., clinical instructor of Family & Community Medicine, also was selected by the graduating class as the outstanding physician-teacher for the Northwest Campus, Minot.
Of the roughly 1,700 physicians in North Dakota, more than 1,300 have clinical faculty appointments at the medical school, according to UND.
Rebecca Solloway of Glenburn was one of eight students receiving the North Dakota Academy of Family Physicians Award.
