The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) awarded Laykin Feller, of Velva, a $2,500 general scholarship for her first year of college.

FRS is the philanthropic arm of NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association — which focuses on advancing rural education and development through scholarships, grants and educational programs.

SRT is partnered with NTCA, and it is required that applicants are members of a company associated with the national organization.

“As a cooperative, SRT is committed to investing in local youth to support their future goals,” said Cassidy Hjelmstad, SRT CEO and general manager. “We are proud to partner with the Foundation for Rural Service to extend this scholarship opportunity to these exceptional students – and it’s always thrilling when a student from our rural service area wins this national award.”

Feller is a senior at Minot High School and plans to attend the University of North Dakota upon graduation.

Starting at $2.99/week.
