Beckedahl named next Memorial Middle School principal

Minot Public Schools announced Sarah Beckedahl has been named as the next principal of Memorial Middle School.
Beckedahl currently serves as assistant principal at Jim Hill Middle School, where she oversees leadership and operations, instructional coaching, school safety, behavioral systems, and districtwide climate and culture initiatives. She also serves as the district’s Unified Sports coordinator and leads emergency preparedness and crisis management efforts as a member of the District Threat Assessment Team.
Beckedahl holds a master’s degree in education with a concentration in human performance and a bachelor’s degree in K-12 physical education with minors in secondary business education and general business from Minot State University.
“Sarah’s dedication to supporting students, staff, and families, along with her deep understanding of Minot Public Schools, makes her an outstanding choice to lead the school community,” said Superintendent Dr. Scott Faul.
Beckedahl’s career began in Minot Public Schools in 2002 as a teacher and school improvement grant fund facilitator. During that time, she co-wrote the district’s school improvement grant and managed federal fund compliance. Beckedahl also served 12 years on the North Dakota Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Board.
Beckedahl served acted roles in various district initiatives, including the District Recovery Task Force and Credit Recovery Task Force, focused on developing innovative graduation pathways for at-risk students, She also organized and managed student transportation bus pass systems and coordinated campus security, facility and custodial operations.
