Area schools hold graduations on Sunday

Area schools will be honoring their graduates on Sunday, May 17.

South Prairie High School will graduate 36 seniors at a ceremony Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Twenty students are graduating with honors. They are Luke Anderson, Skotti Beck, Mara Beeter, Teyah Dougay, Hattie Heer, Nikalya Hillestad, Landen Jansen, Emily Kannianen, Ryder Magandy, Emma Marten, Abigail Mikkelson, Karley Nelson, Miley Nelson. Brynn Powell, Madison Privratsky, Brianna Rose, Jacob Samson, Nathan Samson, Gabrielle Schmidt and Hailey Sys.

Bishop Ryan Catholic School will graduate 24 students on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Fr. Jadyn Nelson will give the address. Valedictorian is Tochi Udekwe, and salutatorian is Katherine Castaneda. Other honor students are Ella Boyle-Clark, Mia Braunberger, Kirstin Brunner, Ashlyn Burgardt, Carmyn Durand, Claire Fegley, Anne Fricke and Bentley Schneider.

Des Lacs-Burlington High School will hold commencement exercises Sunday at 1 p.m. in the school gymnasium in Des Lacs. The 44 graduates include valedictorians Mycah Faken, Brynn Hanson, Alexis Hudson, Jacey Hutton, Oliver Schaefer and Logen Ystaas and Salutatorian Paige Schwandt. Other honor students are Nadja Kostek, Kyler Fisher, Ava Walen, Easton Anderson, Maizy Frey, Ella Pearson, Milo Anderson, Kelby Sorensen, Hope Walen, Taylor Selfridge, Johnathan Smith, Easton Smith, Colton Berard, Kaylee Austin and Allie Glasoe. Teacher and coach Brandon Karhoff will deliver the commencement address.

Glenburn High School’s graduation ceremony will be Sunday at 1 p.m. in the school. The 12 graduates include the following honor students: Summa Cum Laude, Sophie Cunningham; Magna Cum Laude, Daemian Braun, Emma Jones and Aubrie Quick; and Cum Laude, Lucas Denton, Lakelyn Pletcher and Lydia Wilson.
