ELLENDALE — Ward County 4-H archers competed in the Dickey County 4-H Indoor Hybrid Archery match held March 8 in Ellendale, with all archers competing via the postal scoring option. A total of 24 Ward County youth participated across multiple age and bow divisions.
The postal match format allows archers to compete from their home ranges while still measuring skills against participants statewide. Ward County archers shot their targets at the Souris Valley Bowmen range in Minot, then mailed completed targets to Dickey County for official scoring. Participation in postal matches helps 4-H archers build consistency, confidence and competition readiness while gaining experience in a structured tournament setting.
Indoor archery competitions are divided by age and bow type. Age divisions include Beginner (ages 8-10), Junior (11-13), and Senior (14-18), and Masters (ages 14 and up who have qualified for national competition). Bow divisions include Barebow, which uses no sights or release aids, and Freestyle, which allows sights and releases.
Results of this match for Ward County participants are as follows:
Senior Freestyle Division: Teagan Strilcov, Minot, first place, score of 299.

Also representing Ward County were Faith Carpenter of Granville; Breanna Mindt, Tyson Perdue, Madison Privratsky, Rachel Privratsky, Cole Whitcher and Brandie Yoder of Minot; and Stetson Brandvold of Ryder. The team of Carpenter, Mindt, Strilcov and Whitcher placed third with a combined score of 856.
Senior Barebow Division: Reagan Albert, Garrison, first place, score of 283.
Also representing Ward County were Abrielle Michel of Berthold and Mindt and Clara Potts of Minot. The combined team of Albert, Abrielle Michel, Mindt and Potts placed fifth with a combined score of 766.
Junior Freestyle Division: Tyson Yoder, Minot, seventh place, score of 142.
Also representing Ward County were Heston Seifert of Burlington; Tatum Ehli, Peyton Opp, Fletcher Privratsky, all from Minot; and Sophia Carlton of Norwich. The team of Carlton, Privratsky, Seifert and Yoder placed fifth with a combined score of 402.
Junior Barebow Division: Taryn Albert, Garrison, fifth place, score of 272.
Also representing Ward County was Tayler Knoke of Surrey.
Beginner Freestyle Division: Representing Ward County were Claire Babinchak of Carpio and Lillian Privratsky of Minot. The team of Babinchak and Privratsky placed ninth with a combined score of 148.
Beginner Barebow Division: Representing Ward County were Olivia Michel of Berthold and Victoria Carlton of Norwich. The team of Carlton and Michel placed ninth with a combined score of 343.
