Volunteers sought for Rosehill cross roundup
With summer on the way, it’s time for Wreaths Across America’s annual hour of pulling crosses at Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery in Minot.
On Saturday, April 11, from 11 a.m.-noon, volunteers will gather with Civil Air Patrol at the cemetery to remove the remembrance crosses that held veteran wreaths in December. The crosses will be cleaned and tucked away for summer storage, ready to return in October to secure the wreaths that will be placed on the graves of veterans.
“We love our community days,” organizers with MinotWreath.org stated in a news release. “This one is quick, meaningful and falls in prime cabin fever season. It’s a great excuse to shake off the cold and do something good. Two bonus truths: If you’ve been looking for a reason to wear gloves in April, this is your moment. And we promise, the crosses come up easier than your driveway ice did in February.”
Everyone is welcome. No sign‒up is needed. Bring gloves if you have them, organizers said, and be ready to make fast work of a big job.
