Roosevelt Park Pool, pickleball courts to open June 5

Minot Park District has announced the Roosevelt Park Pool and pickleball courts will be open for the summer after being closed last season due to the flood mitigation project.

“We are dedicated to providing quality of life for our citizens, and we know the Roosevelt Park Pool is a big part of that,” said Elly DesLauriers, executive director for the Minot Park District. “Our staff is working diligently to make sure the facility and staff are ready to welcome visitors on our targeted opening day of June 5.”

The Minot Park District said a new filtration system will be tested as soon as the weather allows, which will replace an aging system that survived the 2011 flood and was beginning to deteriorate.

“We understand the summer of 2025 was disappointing without the pool,” DesLauriers said. “We are committed to making sure the pool is open and ready for you in 2026. Safety is still of the highest priority and we will continue to work with the Souris River Joint Board to ensure safe access to our facilities and a welcoming environment for our community.”

The Minot Park District advises the public that the remainder of the park is closed while construction and restoration of green space moves forward, with a target to open this fall.

Starting at $2.99/week.
