March average temp above long-term average

The average temperature in March was 28 degrees, which is 3.5 degrees above the 119-year, long-term average of 24.5 degrees, according to Austin Kraklau of the North Central Research Extension Center, south of Minot.

He said the lowest temperature of the month was -4 degrees, which occurred on both March 15 and 16. The high was 69 degrees on March 20.

The total moisture for the month was 0.54 inch, which is 0.18 inch below the long-term average of 0.72 inch, according to Kraklau.

He said the total snowfall for the month was 3.9 inches, which is 2.5 inches below the long-term average of 6.4 inches.
