Maple sugaring event on tap at Fort Stevenson

GARRISON - Fort Stevenson State Park will host Maple Sugaring Days for some sweet days of learning and fun as visitors explore the art of making maple syrup. The event has been expanded to include two days, April 11 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. or April 12 from noon-3 p.m.

The park team will guide participants on a journey from sap to syrup through engaging presentations offered both days. The event also offers hands-on activities the whole family will enjoy. The event includes live entertainment featuring Moon Cats on Saturday and Peyton Lily on Sunday.

The park’s annual pancake and sausage breakfast, served by Friends of Fort Stevenson, will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday and continue while supplies last. Breakfast also features an opportunity to try pure maple syrup with the pancakes.

Registration for the 5K is required. A portion of registration proceeds will support youth outdoor education at Fort Stevenson State Park.

The park charges a $7 vehicle entrance fee unless a state park annual pass is displayed.  Fort Stevenson State Park is located three miles south of Garrison.

Starting at $2.99/week.
