Local students selected for ND Leadership Seminar
Students from several area high schools have been selected to attend the North Dakota Leadership Seminar, scheduled for May 29-31 at the University of Jamestown.
They were selected to represent their schools at the North Dakota Leadership Seminar because of their leadership skills, commitment to community service and involvement in their school and community.
Students selected include Cali Bean and Eli Buee of Des Lacs-Burlington; Layton Beeter and Adyn Millar of TGU Granville; Lorelei Chapin of Lewis & Clark Berthold; Fatimazahra Elbouab of Minot North; and Kayson Varty and Kyleigh Varty of Nedrose, all representing their respective high schools.
For more than 40 years, North Dakota Leadership Seminar has brought together some of North Dakota’s most talented young people from across the state for a weekend focused on leadership development, service and issue awareness through empowering discussions and informal debate. Students walk away each year with the tools they need to motivate their peers to make a difference in their communities and schools.
This year students will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with business and community leaders such as Ashley Bates of Blaming Bates; Dustin Jensen, vice president, University of Jamestown; attorney Beau Cummings on constitutional debate; and Corey Mock, a former legislator and N.D. chief information officer, on the Legislature.
