City crews responded to a water main break the morning of Thursday, April 2, in the 1900 block of Fourth Avenue Northwest.

The block of Fourth Avenue between 19th and 20th Streets Northwest was closed to vehicle traffic, with detours set up.

The city reported that a nonworking gate valve at that location required water to be shut off using a gate valve on Fifth Avenue Northwest, which meant about 20 homes and a couple of businesses were affected by the outage. Service was restored before before 4 p.m.

The city also responded to a water main break the morning of Wednesday, April 1, in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue, which affected three residences. Water service was restored by 3:40 p.m.
