Ward County 4-H archers earn top finishes

Ward County 4-H archers had a strong showing at the Mountrail County 4-H Indoor Archery match held Jan. 31 in Stanley, with 10 Ward County youth representing the county across multiple age and bow divisions.
Indoor archery competitions are divided by age and bow type. Age divisions include Beginner (ages 8-10), Junior (11-13), and Senior (14-18), and Masters (ages 14 and older who have qualified for national competition). Bow divisions include Barebow, which uses no sights or release aids, and Freestyle, which allows sights and releases.
Results of this match for Ward County are as follows. In the Senior Freestyle Division, Brynlee Bloms, from Carpio, came in second place with 274 and Breanna of Mindt came in third place with 273. Teams of B. Bloms and Mindt placed first with a combined score of 547.
In the Senior Barebow Division, B. Bloms came in third place with a score of 255, Mindt came in sixth place with a score of 245, and Abrielle Michel came in eighth place with a score of 203. Teams of Bloms, Michel, and Mindt placed second with a combined score of 703.
In the Junior Freestyle Division, Heston Seifert from Burlington came in fifth place with a score of 134 and Sophia Carlton from Norwich came in sixth place with a score of 134.

Also representing Ward County was Tatum Ehli of Minot. The team of S. Carlton, Ehli and Seifert placed fourth with a combined score of 355.
In the Beginner Freestyle Division, Parker Murphy, Clarie Babinchak and Rhett Bloms, all of Carpio, competed. Murphy came fourth place with a score of 118, Babinchak came in sixth place with a score of 111, and Bloms came in ninth place with a score of 94.
The team of Babinchak, Bloms and Murphy placed first with a combined score of 323.
In the Beginner Barebow Division, Bloms came in first place with a score of 204, Victoria Carlton of Norwich came in second place with a score of 193, and Olivia Michel of Berthold came in sixth place with a score of 131.
The team of Bloms, Carlton and Michel placed first with a combined score of 528.
