Rep. Louser to seek reelection in Minot’s District 5

Scott Louser

State Rep. Scott Louser, R-Minot, has announced his intention to seek reelection.

“I’m proud to announce that I am running for reelection to the North Dakota House of Representatives in District 5. Serving the people of this district for the past 16 years has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” he said in his announcement.

“I have demonstrated a willingness to tackle large issues and if reelected, I will focus my attention on enhanced property tax relief and reform, K-12 education policy and funding, solutions to rising health insurance costs and continued flood protection for Minot. Proposed solutions to those and other issues will be presented to the public throughout the campaign and I will be relentlessly dedicated to Minot and District 5,” he said.

Louser has served as the House assistant majority leader and chairman of the Industry, Business and Labor Committee and currently serves on the Appropriations Committee. With Rep. Jay Fisher’s announcement that he will seek election to the Senate in District 5, Louser would be the only Minot representative serving on the Appropriations Committee in the 94-member House.

Louser is the broker/owner of NextHome Legendary Properties, was the 2012 National Association of Realtors vice president, is a two-time graduate of Minot State University and currently serves on the Minot School Board. He also has served with numerous committee and university-related volunteer groups.
