Offender sentenced for indecent exposure
A Minot man has been sentenced to time served and two years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to masturbating in public for the second time in less than a year.
Niko Rivera Solis, 37, entered a change of plea on March 11 in North Central District Court, pleading guilty to one count of indecent exposure-masturbate, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to court documents, Minot Police responded to a report on June 21, 2025, regarding a man masturbating near downtown who the reporting party said was walking in the direction of Central Middle School. Officers made contact with an individual who matched the description of the suspect who was identified as Solis. Solis claimed he was just walking around smoking a cigarette, but the reporting parties maintained they witnessed Solis masturbating alongside Burdick Expressway.
Police determined Solis had previously been arrested on April 16, 2025, after he was reported to be masturbating on the street at the same location. According to court records, Solis was charged with indecent exposure and ultimately pleaded guilty on June 26, 2025. District Judge Stacy Louser sentenced Solis to two years of supervised probation with requirements to register as a sex offender.
Judge Todd Cresap sentenced Solis to serve 360 days in the Ward County Jail, to first serve one day with credit for one day served, to be followed by two years of supervised probation. Solis was ordered to register as a sex offender and pay $325 in court fines and fees.
